Alpaca Shawls
Alpaca Shawls
Our Handwoven Alpaca Shawls are woven from natural color Alpaca and plant dyed yarn. Linda Kernstock of Sage Ridge Mill in Clearmont Wyoming raises the Alpacas and spins the soft yarn at her mill. The two brown Alpaca shawls have a Black Walnut dyed wool warp. The warp for the purple shawls was dyed with Cochineal, the beetle that lives on the Prickly Pear Cactus and Indigo. White Alpaca yarn was also dyed with Cochineal.
